Budget - $ 250-500

I am looking to make a 3d 3rd person fighting/rpg game for my MSc project.

I am SUN Certified JAVA Programmer and very good in most other languages as well. But That is not very helpful to make games. Besides, I strongly prefer c++ for the development unless there is a strong advantage using c#. I prefer Industry standard languages.
